BRAND REPRESENTATIVE-TX
Java City, Sacramento's original coffee company is currently recruiting for a Brand representative to support our largest channel. In this role, you will apply your beverage/hospitality/restaurant knowledge to develop customer partnerships and grow our brand in the South East region including but not limited to TX, NM, OK, AR, and LA. This position services small-large campus franchised coffee cart/cafe locations from education to medical and corporate environments.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Food & beverage background is a big plus. Ideal candidate will possess demonstrated computer skills, experience with booking online travel arrangements and managing their calendar. Applied experience with training and executing operational guidelines highly desired. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates must possess interpersonal skills and be able to interface effectively with all levels of management, both in the field and at the corporate office.

** Travel will be required up to 75% of the time by air and car and will include overnight and occasional weekends.**

 

BRAND REPRESENTATIVE

JOB OBJECTIVE

To protect and enhance the Java City brand by ensuring all locations serving Java City products adhere to brand standards. Responsible for conducting training classes, tastings and quality audits, the Brand Consultant is Java City’s ultimate expert and resource for the accounts they serve.

JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Facilitate Java City training courses which include beginning, intermediate and advanced courses in coffee quality, operations and Java City programs for both internal and external customers with a variety of learning styles.
  • Conduct Brand Standards Assessments in Java City company-owned retail cafes, branded accounts, Proudly Brewing and unbranded locations.
  • Taste, troubleshoot, coach and follow-up with all quality, standard and brand issues at retail and wholesale locations.
  • Ensure that all marketing and operational programs are executed according to plan.
  • Conduct tastings for internal and external customers.
  • Conduct post-training recaps and establish initial training and consulting based on specific customer needs to ensure proper execution of all standards.
  • Provides detailed documentation and reports for both customers and corporate level tracking.
  • Defines opportunities within customer environments and establishes strategic working plans that maximize and exploit these opportunities for both customer and Java City.
  • Review sales data from accounts and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Review operational layouts for existing locations and those under development and make recommendations to optimize performance.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures as stated in the Java City Handbook
  • Ability to work independently and professionally

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

Candidate must have the ability to articulate and adhere to documents such as cafe guidelines, safety rules, programs, training programs, memos, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures is required. Interpersonal and communication skills a must. Strong skill set required for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and CRM Software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for this position. Candidate must position Java City Brand Standards in a positive and nurturing, yet firm manner.
3+ years of food and beverage experience operations required. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education or related field preferred.

JOB CONDITIONS

90% travel by air or car required. Overnight travel and occasional weekends may be required. Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. Job requires lengthy periods of standing and repetitive motions (e.g. tamping, steaming, stirring, etc.). 90% of job functions will be performed in customer environments.

 

Brand Representative Manager – ARAMARK

JOB OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the overall leadership of the ARAMARK Brand Representative Team that trains and conducts QA’s at ARAMARK locations. This position works to protect and enhance the Java City brand by ensuring all locations serving Java City products adhere to brand standards.

JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Spend one week with each Brand Representative in his / her territory visiting accounts at least twice a year or more if appropriate.
  • Mentor Brand Representatives to better assess location problems and potential through customer perspective and sales analysis exercises.
  • Lead Brand Representatives on how to better impact future sales through sales analysis and store operation enhancement.
  • Lead Brand Representatives and customer location managers to refresh stores where appropriate.
  • Lead twice yearly training class to improve performance of Brand Representative team.
  • Ensure team is making full use of all tools provided in field.
  • Provide overall assessment of field team members for their continued growth.
  • Continue to help evolve the QA process to better support business in the field.
  • Work with the Director of Training to develop new training materials and tools for use in the field.
  • Participate in the training of Java City new hires on key job functions by spending a minimum of two weeks in the field with them.
  • Participate in the interview process for new hires to Java City field team.
  • Provide detailed documentation and reports for customers, direct reports and corporate personnel.
  • Review sales data from accounts and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures as stated in the Java City Handbook
  • Ability to work independently and professionally with minimal instruction.
  • Have a clear understanding of the Brand Rep position
  • Able to perform Brand Representative role to include:
    • Facilitate Java City training courses for all customer classes.
    • Conducts Brand Standards Assessments.
    • Tastes and troubleshoots coffee quality.
    • Ensures locations are properly merchandised and marketing programs are executed according to plan.
    • Conducts tastings for internal and external customers.
    • Conducts post-training recaps to ensure proper documentation and follow up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

Qualified candidates must have a strong passion for coffee and be extremely detail oriented. Candidate must be able to articulate and implement all of Java City’s programs (includes training, marketing and sales). Ability to read and interpret documents such as cafe guidelines, safety rules, training programs, memos, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures is required. Strong skill set required for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate should exude confidence, knowledge and personality when dispensing advice, while also having a passion for training and development and be capable of working with learners of many different skill levels. Candidate must be independent, a self starter, mechanically inclined and represent the Java City brand in a positive manner (including knowledge, enthusiasm, dress, and punctuality). Candidate will be capable of positioning Java City’s Brand Standards in a positive and nurturing, yet firm manner.
3+ years of food and beverage management experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education or related field preferred.
